Pocket Puzzle

   

Welcome to Pocket Puzzle.  This is a very simple and addictive puzzle builder and play system.  Pocket puzzle features 4 play modes for any picture. 

Each type has its own scoring system.  The 25 Piece puzzle with borders will be they easiest puzzle and the 100 piece puzzle with out borders will be the most difficult.

Getting Started

First you must select the picture you want to use for your puzzle.  You do this with the Load Picture option in the File Menu.

The Picture Loader form has a mini viewer so that you can preview the picture.  Once you find one you like select the Load button.

Once the picture is loaded select one of the New Game Options from the File Menu.

You select the piece you want to move by clicking it.  Click a second piece and the two will swap positions.  It one or both of the pieces fall into play a small tone will be heard and your score will go up.  Also the number of pieces left will be displayed.

As the pieces fall into place the grid will be removed and your picture will start to take shape.  Once all pieces are in place you will be taken to the score board.

Take a Peek

If you are having problems with the puzzle you can take a peek and get a free piece solved for you.  You can do this in a couple of ways.

First select the tile you want to peek at.  Then hit the Peek option from the Help Menu.  The puzzle will be redrawn and you selected piece highlighted.  To place it simply select it again while you are in peek mode an it will be placed on the form.   Note that taking a peek will cost you points each time you do it.

The other way to take a peek is to do it with out any tiles selected.  Once the peek screen is drawn simply select a piece.  Your puzzle will be redrawn and your piece highlighted.  Note that your stylus will be over the position the piece needs to be swapped with.  Simply tap and again you will be rewarded with a valid swap.

Free Peek

You can get a free peek by using the Load Picture Form.  Just make sure you don't hit the load button.

Saving you Puzzle

You can save your current puzzle any time you wish and reload it at another time.  This is done with the Save and Load Game options.

Other Graphic Files

Pocket Puzzle comes with 19 graphic images.  You can add any picture you wish.  Just place them into your Pocket Puzzle game directory.  They may be Jpg, Gif or Bmp images.  They need to be at least 240 x 240 pixels in size.  If they are larger they will be cropped at the 240 x 240 mark.

Note that if you remove graphics from the directory the game may fail to load.  If this happens simple remove the LastPuzzle file and reload the game.   Never remove the Statue1.jpg file as this is the default image.
