Dish's are displayed in the list next to the Dish Type list.

To add, edit or delete a dish, select the Dish Type then hold down the stylus in the Dish Name list.

If you decide to add or change a dish, the dish edit form will pop up.

Here you set the dish name and type.  You set the portion and the number of servings the dish or recipe will yield.  There is also a provision for adding a cooking instructions or notes.  You can place up to 600 characters in this field.  These instructions will be displayed at the bottom of the panel.

The Servings field is used to divide the meal totals into the portions indicated.

Here are a few pointers for creating new dishes.

Adding or Changing Dish Ingredients

Once you have selected or created a dish, you can now add or edit ingredients.  This is done using the meal detail list.

This list will display all the ingredients for the selected dish, as well as the dish totals and the calculated per serving totals.

Use the scroll bars to scroll the list so that you can bring into view the additional food values.  You can also drag the header field separators to resize the field.

There are several operations you can perform on dish ingredients.

The first set of operations makes changes to the ingredients while the others make copies of the information for use in other panels.  The real power of the HealthAtHand system reveals itself with the many ways in which you can copy the data from one panel or database to another.

Paste XXXX into Dish Here you can directly paste the clipboard contents into the dish as a new ingredient.  Note that the XXXX will be replaced by the first 15 characters of the clipboard description.  Once you select this option you will be presented with a paste dialog box.
