Serial Data Logger

 

 

 

Overview

 

The DataLogger is a small utility program that enables you to collect serial data from a com port and saves it to a file.  There are both Pocket PC and Desktop versions available.

Field Descriptions

 

File

This is the name of the file to save.  On the Pocket PC if you leave out the . the file will be saved to the documents directory.  By placing the . in front of the name you will force DataLogger to save the file in its current directory.

 

Com Port

This must be a valid communications port.

 

Baud

This a valid baud rate.  300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 14400, 19200, 38400, 56000, 57600, 115200, 128000 and 256000 are valid baud rates

 

Data Bits

Must be 5,6,7 or 8

 

Parity

Valid Parity parameters are N, NONE, E, EVEN, O, ODD, S, SPACE, M, MARK

 

Stop Bits

Must be 1, 1.5 or 2.

 

 

Captured Data

This field indicates the number of bytes that have been captured.

 

You start a capture session by hitting the Start button.  Once started you must hit the Stop button to end the capture.  Each time you start a capture session a new file is created erasing the last.

 

Hit the Quit button to end the program.
